Artist, Educator, Scholar

Andrea has been teaching and mentoring her amazing students for the last twelve years. She has substantial training in pedagogy and is passionate about bringing excellence and the fun of theatre into the university classroom and rehearsal room. 

Andrea is a dedicated director, choreographer, and dramaturg. She is drawn to movement-based work that emphasizes feminist and inclusive themes. She is interested in adaptations or reimaginings of classical works to decenter the canon and explore new possibilities. She also loves to put on a great show. 

Andrea is a Performance Studies scholar specializing in the intersections between Military Studies, Gender Studies, and Theatre Studies. She explores the many ways that soldiers perform in everyday life and in the pomp of ceremony. These explorations bring up questions on masculinity, political ideology, historiography, affect, movement, and performativity.
